This device allows you to easily identify and check cable status and troubleshoot wiring for continuity, shorts, opens, and cross connections. Compatible with RJ45 LAN cables Cat 5, 5e, 6, 7 (UTP/STP), RJ11/12 telephone cables Cat. 3 (2/4/6 pin) and standard solid/stranded wires using the alligator clip cable. Ideal for all telecommunication, networking, data communication, audio/video, cable TV and weather-proof cable installation and maintenance fields.
Finding fence wire break point:
Preparation: Turn off the system and disconnect the fence wire connections.
Grounding: Use proper grounding - connect the BLACK alligator clip to a grounded outlet for best results.
Connection: Connect the RED alligator clip to the end of the fence wire, with the other end of the wire connected to ground.
Activation: Turn on the generator and move the receiver along the wire.
Note: Be aware that you may need to dig up the fence wire to better hear the signal.
Result: Signal loss = break point, which can be repaired with a waterproof Scotchlok 0.5-1.5mm² 600V Gel connector!
