PNI GD-01 is a gas detector for detecting natural gas (methane), LPG, and coal gas. The device features an embedded semiconductor sensor with a service life of up to 5 years. The detector does not detect toxic gases, including carbon monoxide (CO).
The alarm triggers at a gas concentration of 20% LEL, providing a warning with a continuous sound of at least 70 dB and a flashing red LED light. The device has a 12 V command output and is compatible with the PNI V-02 solenoid valve to shut off the gas flow in case of a gas leak; the solenoid valve is not included.
The device warm-up time lasts up to 180 seconds (approximately 2–3 minutes), during which gas detection does not function. To detect natural gas, the detector is installed 30 cm below the ceiling and 1.5m away from the gas source, whereas for LPG, it is installed 30 cm above the floor and 1.5m away from the gas source. To avoid false alarms, the detector must not be installed in places with a lot of water vapor.
