Shelly Dimmer Gen4 is a single-channel smart dimming controller designed for remote control of dimmable lights and drivers. It features versatile connectivity with support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee, and is Matter compatible for seamless integration into various smart home ecosystems. The device can function as a standalone unit in a local network or through cloud-based automation services.
The controller supports trailing edge dimming and can be installed in systems with or without a neutral wire. When used without a neutral wire, a minimum load of 20 W is required, or a Shelly Bypass must be employed. The device includes power measurement capabilities for voltage (V), current (A), and consumption (W) when connected with a neutral wire. Integrated safety features provide protection against overheating, overpower, overvoltage, and overcurrent.
Advanced firmware capabilities include scripting for custom automation, advanced schedules for detailed brightness and transition control throughout the year, and night mode for specific nighttime brightness levels. Technical features such as gamma correction, warm-up for specific bulbs, and automatic dimming calibration ensure smooth performance across the entire dimming range. The device also supports KNXnet / IP, MQTT, Webhooks, and can act as a Wi-Fi range extender or Zigbee repeater.
