The extender allows you to transmit an HDMI signal in 1080p resolution using 1 pair of UTP category 5 or 6 cables over a distance of up to 30 meters. Due to the much lower cost of UTP cable compared to HDMI cable, the extender allows you to transmit an HDMI signal over long distances in an inexpensive way. In addition, UTP cable is much easier to route and is less susceptible to mechanical damage in bending points, which allows you to easily and inexpensively perform Audio - Video installations in your home or office.
