The TSOP1730-TFK is a miniaturized receiver, expertly designed for infrared remote control systems, delivering reliable performance in a compact form factor. As part of the TSOP17.. series, this device excels at receiving PCM remote control signals at a carrier frequency of 30kHz.
Overview
The TSOP1730-TFK efficiently integrates a PIN diode and a preamplifier onto a lead frame. Its epoxy package effectively functions as an IR filter, and the demodulated output signal is readily decoded by a microprocessor. Designed for infrared remote control systems, it supports all major transmission codes.
Key Features
- Photo detector and preamplifier in one package
- Internal filter for PCM frequency
- Improved shielding against electrical field disturbance
- TTL and CMOS compatibility
- Output active low
- Low power consumption
- High immunity against ambient light
- Continuous data transmission possible (up to 2400 bps, other source says 1200 bit/s)
- Suitable burst length ≥10 cycles/burst
Applications and Benefits
The TSOP1730-TFK is a versatile solution suitable for a wide range of remote control applications, providing:
- Remote Control Systems: An ideal IR remote control receiver for TVs, DVD players, and other consumer electronics.
- Wireless Control: Enables seamless wireless control via infrared signals in various devices.
- Home Automation: Perfect for integration into home automation systems to control lights, appliances, and other devices.
Usage Considerations
For optimal performance of the TSOP1730-TFK, please consider the following:
- The data signal should have a carrier frequency close to the center frequency of the bandpass (30kHz).
- A burst length of 10 cycles/burst or longer is recommended.
- A corresponding gap time, at least as long as the burst, is necessary in the data stream.
- It can receive up to 1400 short bursts per second continuously.
- Suitable data formats include NEC Code, Toshiba Micom Format, Sharp Code, RC5 Code, RC6 Code, R–2000 Code, and Sony Format (SIRCS).
- The receiver can still receive data signals even when a disturbance signal is applied, but the sensitivity is reduced to prevent unexpected pulses.
